Alphonse Mucha (1860 - 1939)

Information:

Alfons Mucha, often known in English and French as Alphonse Mucha, was a Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist, known best for his distinct style. He produced many paintings, illustrations, advertisements, postcards, and designs. He mainly focused on humans adding his specialty of adding in nature.

Artwork:

This print is called Absinthe and displays a girl almost blinded by her wild hair and holding up a glass of something. If you look closely to the background you can see what looks to be some form of plant climbing up the picture.
This piece of artwork entitled Sarah Bernhardt was printed by Mucha showing a woman with long hair with flowers attached to the top of her her. As well as patterns in the background, it is also made up of lots of little flowers falling down to the tips of her hair.
Mucha called this print Winter; you can see,

like in the others, he is showing a woman who

is wrapped up. In the background there is a

withered tree with its tops covered in snow.

Both the woman and the tree look slightly

hunched over.
